PRAYER ACTIVATES GOD'S POWER,

AND GOD'S POWER CHANGES EVERYTHING!

There are far too many Christians who are walking around dejected, depressed, hopeless, powerless, and in bondage to the flesh. Yet this is not what the Christian life is or should be. Jesus Christ fulfilled the will of the Father and together made a new covenant—one that set us free from the enslavement of sin and gave us new life. Through the shed blood of Christ on the cross and His resurrection, Jesus restored our relationship with the living God and enabled us to live an abundant life!

Though we will experience difficulties, in the midst of these things we are not powerless and without hope. Our power and hope is in God, and the Holy Spirit empowers us to live above the fray! The most powerful thing we can do in our lives is PRAY! The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing and to pray about everything.

If you are struggling in your walk, if you look at the world around you and feel dejected, look up, for your redemption is nigh! Join Pastor Carter in this book as he looks at the lesson Jesus gives us in Mark 9—along with some of his own personal experiences and testimonies—and how it relates to us, our walk with God, and our impact on the world. You will find, as Pastor Carter has, that  it’s time to pray!

MEET THE AUTHOR

Carter Conlon  is the senior pastor of Times Square Church. In 1994, he was invited by founding pastor David Wilkerson (author of The Cross and the Switchblade) to help pastor Times Square Church. He became the senior pastor in 2001.

Pastor Carter has always demonstrated a passion for prayer, which is evidenced by his gathering of 50,000 believers from many denominations to pray for one hour in the middle of Times Square. Through the overwhelming response to Prayer in the Square, Pastor Conlon introduced two new ministries. The first, Feed New York, is a ministry to churches throughout the five boroughs who participated in Prayer in the Square. This ministry supplies healthy food to these churches that are committed to helping people in their community who struggle to provide food for themselves and their families.

The second is the Worldwide Prayer meeting. Every Tuesday night thousands  of Christians gather to pray at Times Square Church. Individuals from 199 countries and territories participate in person or through live streaming.

Pastor Carter’s one-minute devotional, It’s Time to Pray, is featured on 1010 WINS, the nation’s most listened to all news station, as well as 320 additional radio outlets. He also hosts a half hour radio program, A Call to the Nation, which is broadcast throughout the states. Pastor Carter has authored several books, which include The 180-Degree Christian, Fear Not, Unshakable, and soon to be released autobiographical book, It’s Time to Pray.

God has led Pastor Carter to preach in countries around the globe, while continuing to be a sought-after conference speaker. He regularly speaks at World Challenge’s Renewing Your Passion for Christ conferences and Family Research Council’s Watchmen on the Wall among many others. In response to requests by ministers from all over the world for spiritual mentoring, Pastor Carter developed For Pastors  Only, a bi-weekly devotional ministry. Conlon continues to actively serve on the Board of  Directors  for World Challenge (a ministry founded by David Wilkerson) and Summit International School of Ministry.

Pastor Carter is married to Dr. Teresa Conlon, President of Summit International School of Ministry and an associate pastor at Times Square Church in New York City. The Conlons have three children and eight grandchildren.
